Not seeing the results you want in your business? Try this.

Results. We all want them! It’s the thing that shows us that something is working, that our thing is valid, that our business is viable.

But sometimes, results are hard to come by. It can seem like the harder we try, the more evasive they can be. (It’s almost like the more you chase something, the more it eludes you.)

When we are uber-focused on results, we are pushing, nose to the grindstone, plowing through the work.

What we aren’t usually doing is reflecting. And yet, that is the thing that can make the biggest change in our results.

How pausing to reflect can help

Now you might think, “I don’t have time to stop and reflect, I have $(%* to do!”

But here’s the thing — When you reflect, you get clear on what’s really going on beneath the surface, and you save yourself time and energy in the long run.

When you reflect, you tap into your insights and intuition, and see things beyond the face value. You allow the time and space for ideas and things to come to you … rather than chasing them.

So if you’re not seeing the result you want in your business (or any area of your life), take the time to pause and ask yourself these questions.

7 questions to answer when you’re not getting the results you want:

1. How are you feeling?

Are you stressed trying to get all these results? Are you plowing through? Are you feeling any joy or contentment? Making the process enjoyable is the key to feeling good along the way… and isn’t that what you want?

2. What is your intuition telling you?

Intuition can be like a whisper, but it’s always there. When things seem to be going astray or something isn’t quite sitting right with you, tune into your intuition and ask what it has to tell you.

3. What is your vision?

Do you have a big vision for your business and what you want to do? Have you spent time feeling into this vision, experiencing it as if it were real to you? You don’t need to know all the details. But creating a vision in your mind of what you want can help you stay focused and positive.

4. What is the resistance telling you?

Remember that resistance is normal when you’re doing heart-centered work. Instead of fighting against the resistance, feel into it. Get curious on what’s causing this resistance. What are the underlying thoughts or beliefs? (Some old messages are likely to come up here!)

5. What do you believe is possible for you?

You can have the best strategy and plan in the world, but if you don’t believe it’s possible for you, it’s not going to work. Yes, your self-belief and self-trust matters. They impact everything you do. And yes, you can strengthen both. (Read my post on self-trust.)

6. How grateful are you for your current circumstances?

You might be saying, “But my current circumstances aren’t what I want!” There is always something to be grateful for. If you want 10 clients but you have 1, be supremely grateful for that client.  What you focus on expands.

7. How present are you?

Envisioning what you want is powerful, and you also want to be present and focused on your next right action. You do not have to see the top of the mountain. You only need to see a few feet in front of you. When you take the next step, more steps appear.

When you’re not getting the results you want, take a moment to pause and reflect.

When you answer these questions, you’re likely to find some new ways to tap into the vision, find joy in the process, and uncover some thoughts and beliefs that might be standing in your way.

This is all part of doing the inner work so that you can experience the outer results in your business.
